We offer many services designed to help adults with developmental disabilities remain in their home. We provide them with individualized supports which links them to their communities and establishes long term support within the family unit.
Those who need disability assistance wish to enjoy lives no different from anyone else. With our help, living with a mental or developmental disability can be manageable at home. WJS Canada’s home care services can enable a broad range of activities, mobility, and independence for disabled adult children. Disability assistance is provided in many forms, from providing in-home care services and maintaining a balanced and safe lifestyle to offering simple companionship or managing complex health support. WJS services include teaching personal care and life skills that assist with day-to-day living. WJS offers programs to individuals who may prefer living with a host family, and who will benefit from the additional support a family environment can provide. We also have support options such as respite relief for family members and caregivers who are living with or assisting a loved one with a disability. WJS Canada also provides services in some communities for families of children with developmental disabilities. We strengthen the family’s ability to promote their child’s healthy development and encourage participation in activities at home and in the community.
